Stay in touch, then pick up

Send Bunk Notes, look at the photo gallery, and collect your child on the last day.

Step 1 · Forms

Fill in the forms before camp

  1. Check your registration

    • Log in to your Camp Brain account. It lists each child you registered, the camp session, and the forms that are still open. (Setebaid to confirm)

    • Forgot your password? Use the password reset on the Camp Brain login page, or call the office at (570) 524-9090. (Setebaid to confirm)

    Not sure you're registered?
  2. Fill in the camper forms

    • Complete the camper health form in your Camp Brain account. It asks about your child's diabetes care, insulin doses, other health conditions, medicines and allergies. (Setebaid to confirm)

    • Your child's doctor or diabetes care team signs the medical form. Ask for it early, because clinics can take a few weeks. (Setebaid to confirm who signs)

    • Campers aged 7 also need a note from their doctor that says they are ready for overnight camp. (Setebaid to confirm)

    • Send every form at least four weeks before camp starts. The medical team reads each form before camp, so they know your child's care plan on drop-off day. (Setebaid to confirm the deadline)

    • If your child's insulin doses, pump settings or health change after you send the forms, update the form or call the office. (Setebaid to confirm)

    Log in to Camp Brain
  3. Vaccinations

    • Setebaid follows the American Academy of Pediatrics' advice on vaccinations. To attend camp, your child must be up to date on all vaccinations that the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends.

  4. If your plans change

    • If your child cannot come to camp, call the office as soon as you know. Our refund policy explains what happens to your payment.

Step 2 · Diabetes supplies

Send the diabetes supplies your child uses

  1. Insulin and medicines

    • Send all prescription medicines in their original pharmacy packaging, with your child's name on each one. (Setebaid to confirm)

    • Send your child's open insulin. An open vial expires 30 days after it is opened, so check the date before you pack it.

    • Camp keeps some supplies in stock, such as insulin, test strips and treatments for lows. Until Setebaid confirms the list, plan to send what your child uses each day. (Setebaid to confirm)

  2. Pump and CGM supplies

    • Send enough pump supplies for the whole week, plus spares: reservoirs, infusion sets and batteries. Camp cannot give campers pump supplies. (Setebaid to confirm)

    • Send your child's CGM and extra sensors, because sensors often need to be changed more often at camp. Camp has no CGM supplies, and Setebaid cannot be responsible for a lost or damaged CGM. (Setebaid to confirm)

    • Pack a backup in case a pump fails: long-acting insulin and pen needles or syringes, as your child's diabetes care team advises. (Setebaid to confirm)

  3. Hand them over at check-in

    • Pack all diabetes supplies and medicines in one bag with your child's name on it. At check-in, you give the bag to the medical team. (Setebaid to confirm)

Traveling from far away

Coming to camp from far away

  1. Families come from many places

    • Campers come from across Pennsylvania, from other states and from other countries, including Australia, Canada and New Zealand.

    • Camp is a few hours' drive from several large cities. Some parents take a short holiday of their own nearby while their child is at camp.

  2. Places to stay

    • Staying nearby the night before drop-off or pick-up? Call the office, and we suggest places to stay near camp. (Setebaid to confirm)

    Call the office

Step 5 · During camp

Staying in touch during camp

  1. Bunk Notes: messages to your child

    • Send your child short messages online with Bunk Notes. Each morning, camp prints the new notes, and your child gets them with the mail. (Setebaid to confirm that Bunk Notes are still offered)

    • Your child writes back by hand. Pack writing paper and stamped envelopes addressed to home.

    • The last day to send a note is the Friday of camp week, before 10 AM. Bunk Notes have a small fee, paid to Bunk1. (Setebaid to confirm the day and the fee)

    • Letters by post go to the camp address, not to the office, and only during camp week. Post them early so they arrive before pick-up. (Setebaid to confirm)

  2. A photo gallery that you control

    • Volunteer photographers take photos at camp every day and post them to an online gallery, usually by the evening. (Setebaid to confirm)

    • Only people you invite can see the gallery. After registration, you get an invitation code to set it up. (Setebaid to confirm)

    • Photos show what happens at camp, not how your child is doing. Many activities happen at the same time, so your child may not be in every day's photos.

    How we use camper photos
  3. Phones and calls

    • Campers leave their phones at home, so they can enjoy the week with their friends. (Setebaid to confirm the phone rule)

    • If your child's CGM sends readings to a phone, call the office before camp. Together we agree how the CGM works at camp. (Setebaid to confirm)

    • Homesickness is normal, and counselors help campers through it. If your child is unwell or needs you, the medical team calls you. (Setebaid to confirm)

  4. Help and emergencies

    • In an emergency during camp, call the office at (570) 524-9090. The office passes urgent messages to camp at once. (Setebaid to confirm the number to use during camp)

    • Bunk Notes and the photo gallery come from Bunk1, a separate company. For help with your Bunk1 account, call Bunk1 at 212-974-9112 or email support@bunk1.com. (Setebaid to confirm)
