For parents

Sessions on life with type 1 diabetes

Parents spend the day in learning sessions with doctors, nurses and diabetes educators, and with other families who live with diabetes too. Below are sample topics. The 2027 sessions and speakers will be posted here (Setebaid to confirm).

  1. Pumps, CGMs and new tools

    What is new, and how families use it from day to day.

  2. Diabetes at school

    Care plans, the school nurse, and how to talk with teachers.

  3. Sports and active days

    How to keep blood sugar steady through games, practice and long summer days.

  4. Growing up with diabetes

    How to help your child take on more of their own care as they grow.

While you learn, they play

  • Kids, 3–12

    Arts and crafts, outdoor games such as Gaga, and coloring. Kids eat their meals with their parents.

  • Teens, 13–18

    The high ropes course, adventure games and zip lining (Setebaid to confirm the ages and activities for 2027).

  • Brothers and sisters

    Siblings are welcome to come and join in.
